Q: What is a home watch service?

A: A home watch service performs scheduled inspections of unoccupied or vacant properties while the owner is away. With regularly scheduled visits, Safe and Sound will put your mind at ease by looking for any irregularities that could become a problem. We will customize a home watch checklist for your home in order to meet your individual needs.

Q: Why do I need a home watch service?

A: A home left unattended is a home in jeopardy. I will inspect your home with a trained eye in order to spot any issues with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, as well as inspect the overall condition of your home and property. Storm preparation and continuous observation of the interior and exterior of your home will help prevent expensive repairs. By removing junk mail and creating a presence, your home will be more secure. A home watch professional will serve better than a well intentioned neighbor, handyman or relative.

Q: What happens if an irregularity is observed during an inspection?

A: Should I find an issue or potential problem, you will be notified immediately. If it is an easy fix, I will be able to remedy it myself. For a larger issue, I will present a solution for your approval. All service vendors recommended will meet a specific criteria, be appropriately licensed and insured and provide excellent references.

Q: Is Safe and Sound Home Watch Sarasota Insured?

A: Yes! Safe and Sound Home Watch Sarasota is Insured. We are a registered business with the State of Florida and operate out of Sarasota.

Q: How often do I need someone to inspect my home?

A: We recommend weekly inspections, however, this is both a personal and an insurance issue. Some insurance companies require a specific amount of inspections per month. It is our opinion that if an issue arises, it is best to identify and remedy it as soon as possible, before a larger problem arises.

Q: Are you available 24/7?

A: HOURS OF OPERATION: Our regular business hours are Monday – Friday 8 AM – 5 PM EST. We are not a 24/7 company, however, given the nature of our business, we do our best to assist clients after hours and on weekends for emergencies.

Q: Is Safe and Sound Home Watch Sarasota a security company?

A: We are not a security company, nor do we take the place of one; however, having a visible presence in your empty home may act as a crime deterrent. We do not conduct daily patrols of the home like a security company, but will answer alarm calls and are familiar with local law enforcement.

Q: Do you inspect my home after severe weather?

A: Florida's severe summer storms and occasional hurricane can cause extensive damage. As a part of our service, we will conduct a brief “Storm Inspection” after severe storms. These inspections are charged at half our normal rate as it will be a brief inspection to ensure that there are no leaks or property damage.
